Visual Communications Students at Briarcliffe College will learn the skills to produce professional-level products in such areas as advertising, editorial and corporate design, information design, multimedia design, creative typography, magazine and book illustration, corporate marketing materials, web and e-designs. Some of the courses students will be taking are digital imaging, page layout, photography, drawing, sculpture for animators, graphic arts production, web design, interactive web, interactive multimedia, animation, CADD, and senior project, as well as many other related courses. Briarcliffe College has installed a new specialized animation and CADD studio and will soon be expanding this lab to add a 2D/3D animation production studio. With these facilities, Briarcliffe expects to work with motion graphic, logos and titles, sports and entertainment graphics, and look forward to developing a gaming course within this concentration. Bachelor in Fine Arts in Graphic & Digital Design Associate in Applied Science Degree (AAS): Graphic Design New and dynamic advancements in the field of graphic design, photographic imaging, and computer applications have led to the creation of exciting career opportunities in the wide field of visual communications. In our Bachelor of Fine Arts and Associate in Applied Science degree programs in graphic design, students will broaden their career choices, gain new insights, and develop their portfolios as they explore the conceptualization skills and production tools they will need to produce professional-level products in such areas as advertising, editorial and corporate design, information design, multimedia design, creative typography, magazine and book illustration, corporate marketing materials, web and design. These programs also incorporates create and theoretical bases for further study and a foundation for understanding future technological developments. The college supplements student access to the industry-standard computer studios with open studio time, and an internship program that functions as an in-house design studio. Bachelor's of Business Administration (BBA) Briarcliffe's degree program in Business Administration will prepare you for success in today's business world. Introductory courses provide you with an overview of general business principles and lay the foundations for more specialized courses in business management and accounting. Elective courses provide you with the opportunity to focus on the areas of business that you find most interesting. Concentration in Information Technology: The BBA concentration in Information Technology combines the study of business and computer systems. This combination is a highly desirable skill set for you if you aspire to a supervisory position. Concentration in Marketing: A BBA concentration in Marketing focuses your education on the latest marketing principles and technologies. Concentration in Management: Our BBA concentration in Management program includes special Management courses that will teach you the latest management theory and techniques. Associate in Applied Science (AAS) Business Administration: Briarcliffe's degree program in business administration will prepare you for successful entry into the contemporary business world. Office Technologies: Our degrees in Office Technologies encompass theory and skills needed to promote the efficient operation of an office. These exciting and promising degrees of study will lead you to a variety of career opportunities. You will be given a choice of three concentrations: Computer Technology, Medical Administration, or Legal. Associate in Occupational Studies (AOS) Computer Information Systems: The ability to collect, store, retrieve and process information is critical to the administration and decision-making process of modern organizations. Success in the information systems field is enhanced by a strong knowledge of programming languages and operating systems. In this program you will have an opportunity to study a variety of contemporary programming languages as well as computer architecture, system design and analysis, and design access and management of databases. Computer Applications Specialist: This program provides a broad background in computer hardware and software. It offers you courses in word processing, spreadsheets, and databases as well as introductions to programming, computer hardware, and operating systems. Networking and Computer Technology: One of the exciting new career options open to those interested in computer technology is the networking field.
